–Background

African Child Projects® [ACP] is a family of reputable men and women representing religions, race, ethnic diversity and all discipline of human enterprise, who make a difference in their communities through volunteerism and committed to the task of serving humanity; promoting unity, oneness of purpose, reconciliation, peace-building, overcoming obstacles and lobbying to make the world a better society.

It is an international non-partisan, not-for-profit fund raising, care giving, educational, developmental and voluntary undertaking entity for Child Development, Welfare of the Poor, Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Africa and beyond, under the auspices of WHC Global Compact [WHCGC] to massively campaign against the dehumanization of vulnerable persons; lobby and collect donations for, and provide humanitarian assistance to Community-based projects that restores a complete feeling of self-worth under a poverty-free sustainable environment, for humanity. Founded in 1988;following the foundation and ideals of WHC as the "Commission for Humanity". 

Our organizational structures and activities represent privileged responsibilities of show of concern, and a reflection of the commission for humanity, dedicated to building a world of sustainable peace where each individual can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation and co-prosperity, through application of universal special goodwill and strengthening friendship between people of over 202 countries, and provision of humanitarian aids to the needy (both old and young) but, with keen focus on the children and the young generations.

MISSION STATEMENT

                – Against the backdrop of the devastating conditions and plights of the poor, we sincerely dedicate ourselves in collective efforts to be the father, mother, brother, sister and guardians to the poor, with special focus on the child development cause.

MISSION

                – To speedily achieve a developed and model status for the African Child, Orphans & Vulnerable Children, and the Poor, and to secure a brighter future for those adversely affected by poverty, sickness, lack of practical love and care in the society. And to correct the menacing threats posed by past inabilities and inadequacies.

OBJECTIVES

Creatively leverage public and private partnerships to:

  • Deliver a holistic service package focusing on multi-faceted needs of the poor, especially, the orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). And alleviate/eradicate even poverty in our society;
  • Provide qualitative free education, and health care for the African Child, citizens of Africa and the needy across the globe;
  • Implement a child labour/human rights violation and abuse assistance network of professionals trained as assault counselors, advocates, evidence collectors and expert witnesses;
  • Ignite international declaration of a month in the year, and dialogue around child development and raising funds towards the training and empowerment of the young generations;
  • Mobilize and support community-based projects, especially the responses that identify, locate and protect the poor and OVC;
  • Advocate and address gender-based issues, and provide support for coordination and scale-up activities including STD, Family Planning, Malaria, HIV/AIDS activities, among other deadly diseases;
  • Develop and strengthen community-based service delivery, to set up child protection forums, OVC forums and human rights forums and/or protection committees, and widen the activities for the promotion of world peace;
  • Enhance the socio-economic participation of young people, especially children and youth leaders (local, national and international);
  • Document and disseminate successful innovative approaches, sustainable models, templates, and evidence-based best practices; and
  • Bestow equal access to opportunity, and restore a complete feeling of self-worth, good neighborliness and peaceful co-existence toward achieving a non-violence society for humanity.

VISION STATEMENT

A society without street persons; where the poor will not be left to look after the poor, where everyone deserves a home, where the rights to qualitative free education, health care, residence, movement, opportunity and protection from abuse and violation are duly enforced.

GOAL

To inspire, educate and empower a child, and to significantly reduce the high devastating plights of the poor, destitute, the sick, abandoned, neglected, abused, homeless, and the needy, among other vulnerable persons in Africa, and around the globe.

Based upon the vision and objectives of the ACP® with deep-rooted mission interest on:

CHILD DEVELOPMENT; PEACE BUILDING; UNITY AND ONENESS OF PURPOSE; EDUCATION; HEALTH CARE; CAPACITY BUILDING; HUMAN RIGHTS & CHILD RIGHTS ADVOCACY; TRAINING & EMPOWERMENT; SUSTAINABLE AGRO DEVELOPMENT; DEMOCRACY & GOOD GOVERNANCE; GLOBAL SECURITY; CULTURE & TOURISM POTENTIALS; AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROJECTS; among others.

AIMS 

  • To seek and attend to the welfare and needs of the Poor, Children and with a special focus on the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC).
  • To promote the goals and ideals for which WHC was established.
  • To promote and foster the spirit of Peace, Love, Solidarity, Unity, Oneness of Purpose among members, and the population of over 202 countries of the world.
  • To encourage individuals to be good Ambassadors of their respective home countries and their host nation.
