World Humanity Commission is urging support for Sudan, a place cut-off from the world, and where millions are in dire need due to ongoing conflict. Over 33 million people face starvation, and more than 13.6 million have been displaced, with 4.3 million fleeing to neighboring countries. The situation is particularly critical in areas like Al-Fasher and Kadugli, where famine has been declared and malnutrition rates are alarmingly high, with rates ranging from 38 to 75% in Al-Fasher and 29% in Kadugli.
The UN has launched a $4.2 billion humanitarian appeal to address the crisis, but funding remains a significant challenge. World Humanity Commission, NRC – Norwegian Refugee Council, among other international bodies and aid organizations are calling for immediate cessation of hostilities, unhindered humanitarian access, and urgent funding to scale up life-saving interventions.
On ground, United Nations aid organizations like the UNHCR, UNICEF, or WFP, are working tirelessly to provide emergency assistance to those affected.
To support, you can consider donating to reputable aid organizations like:
– UNHCR: Providing shelter, non-food items, and protection to refugees and internally displaced people
– UNICEF: Delivering emergency assistance, including food, nutrition, and healthcare to children and families
– WFP: Providing food assistance to millions of people affected by the crisis
You can support by donating to WHC and NRC, to help us in providing much needed assistance to millions of people affected by the crisis in Sudan, and other places in Africa cut off from the world.
